Aluminum alloy doors and windows represent the third generation of door and window technology, succeeding wooden and steel versions. Their evolution has progressed from early single-layer aluminum designs to colored aluminum, and subsequently to thermal-break aluminum alloy systems. Since 2000, my country has progressively adopted thermal-break insulation technologies-encompassing both resin-injected and strip-inserted profiles-which revolutionized the solution to the issue of rapid heat conduction in aluminum alloys; consequently, the market share of thermal-break aluminum doors and windows has risen. Performance standards for energy-efficient doors and windows have expanded beyond a focus on thermal conductivity to encompass comprehensive improvements in airtightness, watertightness, and sound insulation. Similarly, architectural glazing has evolved from standard single-pane glass to energy-efficient options such as double- and triple-glazed units and Low-E insulating glass. The market penetration of smart aluminum alloy doors and windows is increasing, with products integrating features like remote control and automatic sensing-such as automatic closure triggered by wind and rain sensors and AI-driven smart ventilation systems. To enhance performance, advanced technologies have been employed, including aerospace-grade thermal-break aluminum, cavity filling with polymer nano-silica gel, multi-chamber structural designs, and X-shaped thermal insulation strips.
