Glass railings are a common architectural feature serving both decorative and safety purposes. Primarily composed of glass panels and supporting structures (such as stainless steel posts), they are widely used in locations such as balconies, staircases, and hotel lobbies.
Glass railings offer not only an aesthetically pleasing, transparent visual appeal but also reliable safety protection. A key characteristic is the combination of high-strength glass-such as tempered or laminated glass-with metal supports to ensure stability and durability.
The glass panels typically consist of tempered glass, generally 8–12 mm thick, offering high impact resistance and safety. Supporting structures are usually made of stainless steel (e.g., Grade 304 or 316), with surface finishes such as galvanizing, painting, or anodizing to enhance corrosion resistance and visual appeal. Common installation methods include clamp connections (securing the glass with clamps) and embedded connections (fitting the glass into metal channels).
